Kenya’s First CodeDay

In the heart of Africa, where technological advancements are reshaping societies, Kenya has emerged as a vibrant hub of innovation and technological entrepreneurship, along with South Africa and Nigeria in Africa. With its thriving tech ecosystem, we were proud to celebrate the country’s first-ever CodeDay in 2019. This groundbreaking event brought together talented coders, tech enthusiasts, and industry leaders to showcase Kenya’s growing prowess in the digital world and foster an environment of collaboration, learning, and innovation.

One of the key objectives of Kenya’s first CodeDay was to inspire the next generation of tech enthusiasts and provide them with a glimpse into the exciting world of coding and computer science.

The inaugural Code Day in Kenya was marked with various activities all designed to promote and celebrate coding including workshops, participation in the international competition, and a hackathon.

A Legacy

It has since continued on under new and thriving leadership in Kibera.
